Astrix Bio-IT 2019 World Pre-Conference Workshops

This year’s Bio-IT World Conference & Expo features morning and afternoon pre-conference workshops on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. These workshops are designed to be interactive and provide a deeper dive into more technical aspects of the informatics landscape that would otherwise not be covered during the main conference tracks that take place Wednesday-Thursday.
Astrix is pleased to be providing two pre-conference workshops this year:
Workshop 1 – Lab Informatics: An Insider’s Guide to Project Success
Presenter: Randy Hice, Astrix Managing Director
Time/Date: Tuesday April 16th from 8:00 – 11:30 am
Abstract: This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of activities utilized by professional business analysts to ensure project success. Topics covered will be applicable to all scenarios – from multi-site, multi-national informatics deployments to single-site projects:
- Current state workflow analysis
- Future state modeling
- Derivation of requirements and use cases from TO-BE workflows
- Project plan development

Workshop 2 – Digital Data Strategy for the Lab
Presenter: Dave Dorsett, Principal Software Architect
Date/Time: April 16th from 12:30 – 4:00 pm
Abstract: Successful organizations are working to digitize all aspects of the product lifecycle. This workshop will help frame the current state, opportunities and approaches to a achieving a holistic digital strategy for the lab, one that encompasses the relationships between systems and the lifecycle of data. Representative initiatives and roadmaps will be discussed emphasizing a pragmatic and actionable point of view.
