SUMMARY
The Executive Director, Sales Operations is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the sales operations function within the organization. This individual will work closely with executive leadership, sales teams, and cross-functional departments to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and revenue growth. The Executive Director, Sales Operations will develop and implement strategies, processes, and systems to streamline sales operations, enhance sales performance, and ensure alignment with company objectives. This leader thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment where they leverage excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, and an ability to facilitate and align the interests of cross functional stakeholders. The Executive Director, Sales Operations plays a critical role in shaping the success and growth of the organization, driving sales excellence, and delivering value to customers and stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Strategy Support:

Collaborate with executive leadership to support sales strategies aligned with overall company goals and objectives.

Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for sales growth and optimization.

Provide strategic guidance and reporting on sales targeting, segmentation, and positioning to maximize revenue generation.

Sales Process Optimization:

Evaluate and refine sales processes, methodologies, and workflows to improve efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness.

Implement best practices and standardized procedures to enhance sales operations and streamline sales cycles.

Identify bottlenecks, gaps, and inefficiencies in the sales process and develop solutions to address them.

Sales Performance Management:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor sales performance and track progress against targets.

Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

Provide insights and recommendations to sales leadership on performance optimization, resource allocation, and sales forecasting.

Sales Enablement and Training:

Develop sales enablement strategies, tools, and resources to support sales teams in achieving their objectives.

Coordinate training programs and initiatives to enhance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of sales personnel.

Ensure effective onboarding processes for new hires and ongoing training for existing sales team members.

Sales Technology and Systems:

Evaluate, implement, and manage sales technology platforms, CRM systems, and other tools to support sales operations.

Drive integration and alignment of sales tools and systems to improve data visibility, reporting accuracy, and sales automation.

Stay abreast of emerging sales technologies and trends to continuously enhance sales effectiveness and efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Foster strong collaboration and communication across departments, including marketing, finance, product development, and customer success.

Partner with finance to develop sales forecasts, budgets, and revenue projections.

Work closely with marketing teams to ensure alignment of sales and marketing strategies and initiatives.

Leadership and Team Management:

Build and lead a high-performing sales operations team, providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities.

Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the sales operations function.
-
Set clear goals, objectives, and performance expectations for the sales operations team and hold them accountable for results.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises Sales Operations Team.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university

Minimum of 10+ years in operational capacity

Minimum of 5 years commercial experience

Proven track record of meeting sales targets and growth objectives
-
Preference given to experience in technology services
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Proven track record of success in sales operations leadership roles, preferably within services industry.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, metrics, and trends to drive strategic decision-making.
